The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

The Pastafarianism guidebook

Within every religious belief system, there must be a fundamental basis that serves as a guideline for the followers. These bases may include collections of words, laws and even rituals of a sacred nature that every follower should observe to join the journey of faith.

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, also known as Pastafarianism, has its own guidebook.  The bible of Pastafarian is titled “The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster”.

This book tells the story of the creation myth, relates the Eight Commandments, and presents a complete guide to evangelize people, while also suggesting appropriate lifestyles based on the Pastafarian perspective.

The creation of the universe according to Pastafarianism

The Gospel begins telling us how the creation of the world and even the of the whole universe was an act of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which is completely invisible and undetectable by people.

On the first day, the Monster split the skies from the waters. On the second day, after getting tired of flying, he created the earth so that he could walk through the ground, completing his work with a beer volcano. By serving himself with the beverage from this last miraculous work, the Monster celebrated and then, in a state of drunkenness, he clumsily created again the seas and the land.

That same night he created again the skies and produced a midget, which henceforth he called man. Man and Woman lived happily together for some time inside the Olive Garden of the Paradise. But the Monster had an accident in the kitchen, which caused a general flood, forcing the man and the woman to leave the Paradise.

This story about the creation of man and Earth, along with the alleged fact that the Monster placed contradictory evidence to test the faith of the Pastafarians, is a satire to certain biblical passages and a mockery of the arguments proposed by intelligent design advocates.
